NISARG DIACARE
It is a non hormonal, efficacious and safe formula, made from the extracts of the following herbs which prevent increasing weight and helps reduce blood sugar levels also helps various complications of diabetes .
Composition:
1. Jambubeeja Eugenia jambolana
In a clinical trial with 80 NIDDM patients, the seed powder was administered for 3 months. The drug produced good symptomatic relief along with regulation of blood sugar. It did not show any side effects.
Chemical Constituents: Fruits contain Eugenia triterpenoids, oleonolic acid, malic acid, glucose, gallic acid etc.
2. Haridra Curcuma longa
It possesses the properties like kaphapittahara, varnya and used in tvak dosha, prameha(diabetes), it is an excellent antibiotic properties thus helping in reliving diabetic foot complications.
Chemical Constituents: curcumene, eugenol, camphene, curcumins etc.
3. Amalaki (Amla)
Emblica officinalis Gaertn Anti-diabetic & hypoglycemic activity- Emblica fruit powder reduced blood sugar levels with haridra in diebetic patients (Gopalkumar et al;1995 & Nagarjuna. Jan. 1983 p. 105-107)
Chemical Constituents: Fruit contains Vit-C, Phyllemblin, Linolic acid, Corilagin, ellagic acid & salts, sugars.
4. Patola Tricosanthes dioica
Seed extract of T. dioica loweres blood sugar, serum cholesterol and triglycerides and increased the levels of phospholipids and HDL (Ind. J. Med. Res. 1988, 87; p.398)
Chemical Constituents: Fruit & seed contain Riboflavin, vit. C, thiamine, linoleic, oleic, tricosanic acids.
5. Nimba Azadirachta Indica A. Juss
Anti-diabetic activity- Aqueous extract of leaves decreased the blood sugar levels and prevented adrenaline as well as glucose hyperglycemia. (Murthy et al; 1958)
Chemical Constituents: Nimbin, Nimbidin, Azadira chtin, Nimbadiol, Nimbalide, Sitosterol, Nimbinin, Margosine, etc
6. Guduchi Tinospora cordifolia
Its aqueous extract (stem) effectively reduces blood sugar levels in the alloxon- induced hyperglycemic patients.
Chemical Constituents: tinisporin, tinosporide, cordifolide, isocolumbin etc.
7. Madhunashini Gymnema sylvestre
Oral administration of alcoholic extract of leaves produced a reduction in blood sugar levels in normal and alloxon diabetic subjects.
Chemical Constituents: Gymnemic acids, gymnemine, gymnemagenin, gypenosies.
8. Kiratatikta Swertia chirayita
Swerchirin exhibited hypoglycaemic effect in fased , fed, glucose-loaded and tolbutamide pretreated albino rats. It lowered blood sugar levels.
Chemical Constituents: Swertinin, chiratinin, gentianine,Amarogentin etc. Gymnemic Planta Med. 1991,57,102).
9. Haritaki Terminalia chebula
T. chebula is found to possess hypoglycemic activity on glucose –induced hyperglycemia .
Chemical Constituents: anthraquinone glycosides, chebulinic acid, tannic acid, vit. C, palmitic and stearic acids etc.
10. Khadira Acacia catechu
Oral administration of alcoholic extract of leaves produced a reduction in blood sugar levels in normal and alloxon diabetic subjects.
Chemical Constituents: catechin, catechunic acid.
11. Manjishta Rubia cordifolia
Anti-diabetic activity- Aqueous extract of leaves decreased the blood sugar levels and prevented adrenaline as well as glucose hyperglycemia. (Murthy et al; 1958)
Chemical Constituents: munjistin, rubiatriol, rubifolic acid, alizarin, purpurin etc.
12. Karanja Pongamia pinnata
It showed hypoglycemic effect in normal and alloxon- induced diabetic patients.
Chemical Constituents: karanjin, pongapin, kanjone, glabrin, kanugin, pongamon, neoglabrin, ovalitenone etc.
13. Saptachakra Salacia reticulata Wight.
In a detailed study, the aqueous extract of the root bark showed significant hypoglyceamic activity in the streptozotacin induced diabetes albino
Chemical composition : Root – 1- dicotanin, 3-dicotanin,dulcitol Salacenonal salacinol etc.
14. Guggulu Comminphora Mukul Engl.
It also shown anti-obesity activity, hypocholesterolaemic activity and anti-atherosclerotic activity.
Chemical Consitutents : Oleresin, guggullignans, I & II, mukulol; allylcembrol, guggulu tetrols, Z – and E – guggulusterol
15. Bhumyamalaki Phyllanthus niruri Sensu Hook. F.
The aqueous extract of leaves were reported to produce hypoglyceamic action , The hypoglyceamic activity of P. niruri appeared to be higher than that of tolbutamide (Ramakrishna et al,1982 ).
16 Lashuna Allium Sativum Linn
It shown anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory activity.

17 Daruharidra (Rasanjan) Berberis aristata DC
It shown anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory activity
Chemical Constituents : Karachine, Taxilamin, Berberine, Palmatine, oxyacanthine
18. Arjuna Terminalia arjuna(Roxb.) W&A
T. arjuna and A. racemosus given for 15 days showed significant antidiabetic activity (Ind. Drugs.1983Aug. p. 432-435).
Chemical composition ; Arjunolone, arjunolic acid, arachidic stearate, cerasidin etc.
19. Abhrka bhasma
It helps in increasing body resistance helps fight body against various diseases and allied symptoms of diabetes.
20. Shilajatu
Acts of various system of the body like urinary helps cure difficulty in micturition , burning sensation etc and other symptoms of diabetes.
21 Methika Trigonella Foenumgracum
Chronic administration of seed extract enhanced food consumption and also induced hyperinsulinemia and hypercholesterolaemia (Pharmacol. Biochem. Behan, 1993,45,369).
